Assess the motor, load and operating profile together
Share motor and drive labels, supply information, the driven equipment, speed range and operating hours. For replacement work, include existing parameters and the observed fault or performance concern. The mechanical load and braking arrangement affect selection as much as the rated power.
The assessment can define suitable control and replacement options and the installation and commissioning scope. If energy reduction is an objective, establish a measured baseline and comparable load conditions before agreeing on a verification method. Savings should be evaluated from the application’s measurements; no percentage can be inferred from a drive replacement alone.
