Prepare the site before installation
Making purchased equipment usable requires evaluating the installation position, panel capacity and site access together. Cable routes, mechanical connection points, environmental conditions and access for maintenance are included in the implementation plan.
On an existing production line, the shutdown window and coordination with other teams matter. Electrical, mechanical and process responsibilities are defined beforehand to reduce incomplete work caused by missing preparations.
- Review panel layout, equipment dimensions and access
- Clarify the work scope, site preparations and planned shutdown
Connect the product to the existing control infrastructure
Installation includes physical positioning and routing signals and communication to the correct system. Compatibility of PLCs, drives, sensors or pneumatic components with the existing infrastructure is checked against application documentation. Equipment labels and connection information are recorded.
- Mechanical and electrical work according to manufacturer documentation
- Signal, communication and power routing within the project scope
- Updated labels and documents for maintenance traceability
A site ready for commissioning
Finished installation does not mean the system is ready for production. Qualified personnel complete pre-energization checks and required measurements. The commissioning team then receives an orderly handover for signal verification, communication and controlled functional tests. Changes made during installation are included in the records.
Frequently asked questions
Does production need to stop?
The equipment and site conditions determine the required shutdown. Safe access and energy isolation are planned with the facility.
Can new equipment be added to an existing panel?
Space, electrical capacity, thermal conditions and connection infrastructure are evaluated. Panel revision or a different layout may be required.
Are installation and commissioning the same service?
They are complementary stages. Installation covers physical work; commissioning covers parameter adjustment and functional tests. The quotation states these boundaries.
