Protective field matched to the opening
MLC310R90-900 is a Basic safety light curtain receiver with a 900 mm nominal protective field and 90 mm resolution. It is a receiver component, not a complete transmitter–receiver set. Plan the optical pair, mounting arrangement and safety-related control interface together before using order code 68091909 for a project.
Resolution and placement
The 90 mm resolution is associated with access or danger-zone guarding, not finger detection. Interruption at an entrance does not establish whether someone remains inside the hazardous area. Check that supports permit optical alignment and cleaning across the full field. Adjacent beams, reflective surfaces and routes around the protected opening must be considered.
Response time belongs in the machine calculation
This receiver has a 4 ms response time and two PNP OSSD safety outputs. Include receiver response, safety-controller delay and measured machine stopping time when establishing the required separation distance. The total profile size is 29 × 966 × 35.4 mm.
Basic function package and commissioning
The Basic receiver uses automatic start/restart and selectable transmission channels. Type 2, PL c and SIL 1 identify the sensor class; they are not a certificate for the complete machine. A suitable external restart interlock or protection against standing behind the field is essential where the risk assessment requires it. Wiring, validation and periodic checks must be performed by competent personnel.
