Protective field matched to the opening
MLC510R20-2100 is a Basic safety light curtain receiver with a 2100 mm nominal protective field and 20 mm resolution. It is a receiver component, not a complete transmitter–receiver set. Plan the optical pair, mounting arrangement and safety-related control interface together before using order code 68001221 for a project.
Resolution and placement
At 20 mm resolution, evaluate hand-protection geometry rather than assuming equivalence to a 14 mm finger-protection device. Check the protected opening and the possibility of reaching above or around it. The long housing requires particular attention to straight mounting, alignment and access around the protected field. Its nominal sensing height is not a guarantee that every approach route is covered.
Response time belongs in the machine calculation
This receiver has a 36 ms response time and two PNP OSSD safety outputs. Include receiver response, safety-controller delay and measured machine stopping time when establishing the required separation distance. The total profile size is 29 × 2166 × 35.4 mm.
Basic function package and commissioning
The Basic receiver uses automatic start/restart and selectable transmission channels. Type 4, PL e and SIL 3 identify the sensor class; they are not a certificate for the complete machine. A suitable external restart interlock or protection against standing behind the field is essential where the risk assessment requires it. Wiring, validation and periodic checks must be performed by competent personnel.
