Distinguish sensing height from installation height
The MLC510R90-3000 receiver provides a 3000 mm nominal protective field, while its total height is 3066 mm. Its 90 mm resolution is a separate selection parameter, not the range between transmitter and receiver. Use the complete model and order code 68001930 when assessing a replacement or defining a new sensing pair.
Resolution and placement
The 90 mm resolution is associated with access or danger-zone guarding, not finger detection. Interruption at an entrance does not establish whether someone remains inside the hazardous area. The long housing requires particular attention to straight mounting, alignment and access around the protected field. Its nominal sensing height is not a guarantee that every approach route is covered.
Response time belongs in the machine calculation
This receiver has a 10 ms response time and two PNP OSSD safety outputs. Include receiver response, safety-controller delay and measured machine stopping time when establishing the required separation distance. The total profile size is 29 × 3066 × 35.4 mm.
Basic function package and commissioning
The Basic receiver uses automatic start/restart and selectable transmission channels. Type 4, PL e and SIL 3 identify the sensor class; they are not a certificate for the complete machine. A suitable external restart interlock or protection against standing behind the field is essential where the risk assessment requires it. Wiring, validation and periodic checks must be performed by competent personnel.
