Selection criteria
Choose measuring range using actual target remission, not the 90% maximum alone. Confirm Class 2 laser is acceptable for the machine risk assessment. Verify IO-Link/analog/digital interface and 12–30 VDC supply. Check IP65/IP67 and ambient limits for the mounting location.
Installation, commissioning and maintenance
Mount rigidly with the optical axis clear of obstructions and highly reflective stray targets. Route M12 cable away from high-noise power wiring. Set measuring/output parameters and verify at minimum/maximum target distances. Validate analog scaling, switching points and IO-Link process data if used. Keep optical window clean and monitor diagnostic signal quality/measurement drift.
