Selection and application
Confirm 10,000 PPR resolution and required TTL/HTL signal level. Check 4.5…32 VDC supply, 6-channel interface and M12 8-pin pinout. Verify shaft loads, speed and mounting flange against the mechanical design. Check IP and temperature conditions at the shaft and connector.
Installation, commissioning and maintenance
Align the encoder shaft/coupling to avoid excess radial/axial load. Use the SICK drawing for flange and shaft geometry. Route the M12 cable to avoid electromagnetic interference and mechanical strain. Set/verify output level and programmable parameters against the receiving controller. Check A/B direction, reference signal and count scaling over one revolution. Validate actual speed stays within the 9000 rpm limit. Inspect coupling, shaft play and connector sealing. Trend encoder count/signal faults before they become production stops.
