Technical description and application scope
Beckhoff EL2809 is a high-density 16-channel EtherCAT digital-output terminal rated for 24 VDC and up to 0.5 A per channel.
Technical structure and use
It combines 16 outputs in a 12 mm housing and provides short-circuit-protected channels for valves, relays and other digital actuators. No address setting is required and the process image carries 16 output bits.
Selection and integration
Verify per-channel current, total power-contact load, load type, isolation requirements, EtherCAT station topology and cabinet temperature.
Installation, commissioning and maintenance
Lock the terminal onto a 35 mm DIN rail and keep power-contact loading within manufacturer limits. During commissioning test channel mapping and short-circuit behavior; inspect terminations and thermal conditions during maintenance.
