Technical description and application scope
Combine the optical adjustment and input requirements
PRK5B.1/2 addresses sensing positions that need sensitivity adjustment and an NPN-compatible receiving circuit. One NPN transistor output provides light-on behaviour, while a 270° potentiometer adjusts optical sensitivity. Both requirements should be established before specifying order code 50145257; adjustment is not a way to change the electrical output technology.
Leave room for wiring and maintenance access
The PC-ABS body measures 11 × 32.4 × 20 mm and has two M3 threaded sleeves. A two-metre PVC cable with three 0.14 mm² conductors provides the electrical connection. Account for cable protection and access to the adjustment, not just the sensor’s footprint. Check IP67 and the −40…+60 °C operating range against the actual machine environment.
Verify the adjusted working point using real targets
The 645 nm red LED operates over 0.02–5 m with a TK(S) 100×100 reflector. A 1 ms response and 500 Hz switching rate can be considered for feeding and package passage monitoring. After adjustment, test both the clear path and target interruption at different product positions. Automation can review reflector placement, the input module and commissioning requirements together when preparing a technical quotation.
Integration essentials
2 m PVC cable, 3 × 0.14 mm²; NPN transistor output; IP67.
This sensor is for process detection, not personnel safeguarding. Confirm the reflector and cable supply scope separately.
