Start with the controller interface
PRK5B/N provides one dark-on NPN transistor output. For order code 50145243, the receiving PLC or interface must support the NPN signal arrangement. The 10–30 V DC supply range does not make it a direct replacement for a PNP sensor; input polarity and control logic need their own compatibility check.
Wire directly to the local junction point
A fixed two-metre black PVC cable contains three conductors with a 0.14 mm² cross-section. This suits layouts where no detachable connection is required at the sensing head and the cable can follow a protected route. The 11 mm-wide PC-ABS body mounts through two M3 threaded sleeves. Provide strain relief rather than letting the cable carry installation loads.
Assess product interruption across the reflector path
The 645 nm red LED operates over a specified 0.02–5 m range with the TK(S) 100×100 reflector. Switching frequency is 500 Hz and response is 1 ms. Package passage, transfer points and compact conveyor entries are candidate uses, provided the target interrupts the beam sufficiently. Transparent or perforated objects require testing. Automation can combine NPN interface checks, optical target assessment and reflector selection within a technical quotation for your maintenance or machine-building project.
